PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition of a metal oxide or hydroxide having a fine particle form, excellent in dispersibility in an organic dispersant.SOLUTION: This fine particle metal oxide or hydroxide-fatty acid complex is produced by passing through the processes of reacting a metal salt with an alkali in the presence of the fatty acid and/or its salt to form the complex of the metal oxide or hydroxide with the fatty acid, then cleaning products other than the complex and drying. As the fine particle metal oxide in the fine particle metal oxide-fatty acid complex, zinc oxide is preferable. As the fatty acid, that of a 6 to 30C is preferable. By passing through such the production processes, the metal oxide/hydroxide complex having a scale like form and easily dispersing in the organic dispersant can be obtained.COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT【課題】 有機性分散媒における分散性に優れる微粒子形態の、金属酸化物乃至は水酸化物の組成物を提供する。【解決手段】 脂肪酸及び/又はその塩の存在下、金属塩とアルカリとを反応させ、金属酸化物乃至は水酸化物と、脂肪酸との複合体を形成せしめ、しかる後に該複合体以外の生成物を洗浄し、ついで乾燥させる工程を経て、微粒子金属酸化物乃至は水酸化物・脂肪酸複合体を製造する。前記微粒子金属酸化物・脂肪酸複合体における微粒子金属酸化物は、酸化亜鉛でが好ましく、前記脂肪酸は炭素数6~30のものが好ましい。この様な製造過程を経て、鱗片状の形状を有する、有機性分散媒に容易に分散する金属酸化物/水酸化物複合体が得られる。【選択図】 なし
