PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of surely preventing the formation of creases on a top sheet.
SOLUTION: This absorbent article which is formed by interposing an absorber 4 having compression stability between a liquid permeable top sheet 3 and a back sheet 2 and having an embossed recess portion 8 extending linearly and intruding into the inside of the absorber 4 from the surface of the top sheet 3, is formed with a slit 30 adjacent to the bottom of the embossed recess portion 8 in the top sheet 3, wherein the portion having the slit 30 is configured to have higher elasticity in the direction orthogonally to the extending direction of the embossed recess part 8 by the deformation of the slit 30 than the elasticity of the other part.
