PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a poison bait for rats preventing damage that insect pests such as cockroaches bite the poison bait for the rats, and designed to make only the rats which are the objects of extermination eat the poison bait for the rats and allow effective extermination of the rats, and to provide a method for setting up the poison bait for the rats. SOLUTION: The poison bait 10 for the rats contains an insect pest repellent 20. Furthermore, the method for setting up the poison bait for the rats includes disposing the poison bait for the rats in a repelling area formed with an insect pest repelling body containing the insect pest repellent.
