PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical implement including a surface lubricant layer having island-shaped projecting parts to exert excellent water holding properties, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A method for producing a medical implement includes processes of preparing a solution B by adding hydrophilic polymers and a substance A into a solvent soluble to the hydrophilic polymer and insoluble to the substance A, and forming a film on a base material layer by coating the base material layer with the solution B, and forming a surface lubricant layer having island-shaped projecting parts by immersing the base material layer formed with the film into a solution C insoluble to the hydrophilic polymer and soluble to the substance A.
