PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulin secretion promoter which has high safety, has no worry about side-effects even if being continuously ingested, and is effective, e.g., for preventing diabetes.SOLUTION: The insulin secretion promoter has high safety and has no worry about side-effects even if being continuously ingested since it comprises glycerol monofatty acid ester as an active constituent. In the insulin secretion promoter, the carbon number of the constituting fatty acid of the glycerol monofatty acid ester is preferably 8 to 12.
