The present invention relates to pharmaceutical preparations for the treatment or the prevention of a Staphylococcal infection. They contain at least one polypeptide epitope, wherein said at least one polypeptide epitope induces protective antibodies in a patient in need thereof. The polypeptide epitopes according to the present invention can preferably be used for the preparation of a vaccine against a Staphylococcalinfection, such as Staphylococcus aureus, including Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA). The present invention further relates to monoclonal anti- bodies capable of recognizing and binding to a polypeptide epitope according to the present invention, and the invention also relates to the use of the monoclonal antibodies for diagnosis and the prevention or therapy of Staphylococcalinfection, including MRSA.La présente invention concerne des préparations pharmaceutiques destinées au traitement ou à la prévention d'une infection staphylococcique. Celles-ci contiennent au moins un épitope polypeptidique, ledit épitope polypeptidique induisant des anticorps protecteurs chez un patient en ayant besoin. Les épitopes polypeptidiques selon la présente invention peuvent de préférence être utilisés pour la préparation d'un vaccin contre une infection staphylococcique, telle que par Staphylococcus aureus, y compris Staphylococcus aureus (SARM). La présente invention concerne en outre des anticorps monoclonaux capables de reconnaître et de se lier à un épitope polypeptidique selon la présente invention, et l'invention concerne également l'utilisation des anticorps monoclonaux pour le diagnostic et la prévention ou la thérapie d'infection staphylococcique, y compris le SARM.
