PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary transplanter for potted seedlings capable of planting potted seedlings b grown on a tray c and conveyed by a laterally seedling-carrying belt 7, in high speed and stably to a farm field 33, and enabling a smooth delivery of the potted seedlings from the transversal seedling-conveying belt 7 by downsizing/ lightening. SOLUTION: This rotary transplanter fixing a transplanting rod 20 provided with a seedling receiving part 21 on each transplanting axis 18 installed on both ends of a rotary case 14 installed under the laterally carrying belt 7 for seedling, installs in the rotary case, irregular rotating motion transmitting means 15, 23 and 24 which rotate each transplanting axis one revolution to a reverse direction setting the tip of the transplanting rod write a locus 25 of a closed loop of an ellipse having major axis in vertical direction in its one resolution, receives the potted seedling b from one end of the laterally carrying belt 7 for seedling to the receiving part at the position close to the upper limit in the elevating movement of the seedling receiving part, and plants to a farm field 33 at the position close to the lowest limit in the down movement of the seedling receiving part, installs a press down means 27 to press down the potted seedlings at one end of the laterally carrying belt for seedling to the seedling receiving part, and follows the initial down movement of the seedling receiving part.
