PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial floating island for fishes, not to drive harmful birds out as a cormorant-threatening device does, but to provide a hiding place under which the fishes are hardly seen and can escape from the cormorants, for the protection of the fishes. SOLUTION: This artificial floating island is formed by bending two pieces of main skeleton members 2, 2 having flexibility such as a bamboo, like a bow and binding both end parts 2a of them, laying supplemental skeleton members 3, 4 between the both main skeleton members to form a frame work 5 having a leaf shape by a horizontal view, laying a net 12, etc., over the frame work and fixing, inserting and fixing brushwood, etc., into the net so as to face it downward and to make the branch part under the surface of water. By floating the artificial island 1 on the surface of water and mooring, the fishes are protected from harmful fish eating birds such as a cormorant, etc., by the brushwood of the artificial island.
