PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimicrobial composition with enhanced antimicrobial property and excellent clarity which can be used for an antimicrobial and cleaning application as it is and which can also be used by being mixed into a medicinal product, food, and the like, in response to the increasing demand for the cosmetic product and medicinal product that include no or only reduced amount of an antiseptic and antifungal agent, such as paraben (para-hydroxybenzonate), benzoic acids, salicylic acids and the like used in the cosmetic product (including quasi drug), the medicinal product, and the food as the antiseptic and antifungal agent, in view of increasing safety-oriented consumer mind.SOLUTION: The antimicrobial composition includes an O/W emulsion with an average particle size of 150 nm or smaller, and containing a glycerol medium chain fatty acid ester containing 80% or more monoester and a hydrophilic nonion surfactant with 15 or higher HLB.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】化粧品(医薬部外品を含む)、医薬品及び食品には、防腐防黴剤として、パラベン(パラオキシ安息香酸エステル)、安息香酸類、サリチル酸類等が用いられることがある。近年、消費者の安全志向の高まりと相まって、上記したような防腐防黴剤を配合していない、もしくはその配合量を低減させた化粧品、医薬品の需要が高まっている。本発明は、そのままでも抗菌及び洗浄の用途に使えるほか、化粧品、医薬品及び食品などに配合して使用することができる抗菌性が増強され、かつ透明性に優れた抗菌組成物を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】モノエステル含量が80%以上のグリセリン中鎖脂肪酸エステルと、HLBが15以上の親水性ノニオン系界面活性剤を含有し、平均粒子径が150nm以下のO/Wエマルジョンとすることで課題を解決する。【選択図】なし
