It inhibits the production of NF-κB induced by CHI3L1 in BV-2, inhibits the production of Aβ, and reduces the activity of β-secretase, and thus may be usefully used as a composition for preventing and treating dementia.본 발명은 2-(3-[2-(1-시클로헥센-1-일)에틸]-6,7-디메톡시-4-옥소-3,4-디히드로-2-퀴나졸리닐술파닐)-N-(4-에틸페닐)부탄아미드 및 이의 약학적으로 허용 가능한 염을 유효성분으로 포함하는 치매의 예방 및 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로써, 상기 화합물은 뇌신경세포를 구성하는 성상세포 및 미세아교세포 BV-2에서 CHI3L1에 의해 유도되는 NF-κB의 생성을 억제하며, Aβ의 생성을 억제하고, β-세크레타제의 활성을 감소시키므로 치매의 예방 및 치료용 조성물로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
