PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feed additive promoting toughness of livestock such as pigs in a period ranging from a feeding period to a rearing period, reducing a fatality rate due to disease such as diarrhea occurring frequently, and improving palatability of feed: and to provide a method for feeding the additive.
SOLUTION: The feed additive contains an ume apricot processed product obtained by processing brown algae such as Ascophyllum nodosum in the fucus family, salted ume apricot or pickled ume into a pasty state or powdery state. The method for feeding the feed additive comprises adding the feed additive to domestic livestock feed, and supplying the feed to the livestock.
