PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic imaging unit which is improved in the S/N ratio of a compound image.SOLUTION: The position and the direction of a probe for a subject is detected by a position detecting means 10. A position relation of the subject against a received signal outputted from a digital phasing addition circuit at a compound signal construction part 7 is calculated based on the position and the direction detected for the ultrasonic probe. The position relation for the subject is matched preliminarily received another beam signal and both signals are synthesized together. The synthesized beam signal is converted to a brightness signal by a signal processing circuit 8 to synthesize both received signal with phase information before converting to the bright signal too reduce noise using interference.COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO【課題】 コンパウンド画像のS/N比を向上させる。【解決手段】 位置検出手段10により被検体に対する超音波探触子の位置及び方向を求め、この求めた超音波探触子の位置及び方向に基づいて、コンパウンド信号構成部7においてディジタル整相加算回路から出力される受信ビーム信号の被検体に対する位置関係を求め、予め計測された他の受信ビーム信号と被検体に対する位置関係を整合させて受信ビーム信号同士を合成し、合成受信ビーム信号を信号処理回路8により輝度信号に変換して画像信号を生成することにより、輝度信号に変換する前の位相情報を有する受信ビーム信号同士を合成して干渉を利用してノイズを低減する。
