An incontinent care product in the form of an adult brief, diaper, moisture containment pad or garment liner insert is disclosed. The product has an outer moisture impermeable barrier layer, a soft liner layer and at least one intermediate moisture absorbent layer between the liner and outer layers, with the layers being secured at least along their edges. The edges of the barrier layer overlap and extend inwardly over edges of the liner layer along at least two opposite sides to contain moisture from escape from the liner and absorbent layers along the two opposite sides. A process for the preparation of the product is also disclosed.
