PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop and provide a plant pigment synthesis control method for maintaining color freshness of harvested vegetables and fruits near in the condition when they are obtained under light exposure.
SOLUTION: Light having a wavelength peak within 580-595 nm is applied to the harvested plant at illumination intensity of 700-2,500 Lx, whereby the plant pigment synthesis in the plant is controlled.
