FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: scalpel comprises a cutting edge, a handle and a removable protective case The removable protective case is attachable to the handle and made of an elastic sheet material of a width matched with that of a handle portion enveloped with a duct. Duct walls are elastically pressed to facing surface of the handle portion, preferentially, flat. One of the duct walls is longer than the others. From a body cavity of the duct there is a projecting flange perpendicular to its wall and used as a rotation axis. The handle comprises a hole, preferentially a through hole put on said flange and rotating thereabout. A distance of a blade point to the hole used for case rotation exceeds that of a duct end face to a rotation axis of the case. In the duct cavity, there is a rotation limiter contacting with a facing edge of the handle portion enveloped with the case. Стенки желоба выполнены с возможностью упругого поджатия к обращенным к ним поверхностям участка рукоятки, предпочтительно выполненным плоскими. Одна из стенок желоба выполнена длиннее другой.
