This invention relates to an improved design of thermally efficient metallic/conducting ceramic/ cookware/ tawa for making uniformly cooked rotis/dosaa/tortillas/chapattis. The improved design is made energy efficient to trap most of the available heat from the gas flame with minimum loss of heat. The design is such that it does not burn the part of tortillas/chapattis/rotis that lies just above the flame instead the heat of the flame is spread uniformly all over the surface area of tawa. The typical textured bottom of the tawa creates a uniform heat distribution pattern for the uniform heating of the tawa. The details of invention are mentioned herein.
