Paramagnetic O analyser consists of a bridge circuit for gaseous fluids, an electrically excited magnetic yoke, and a flowmeter. An electric generator (1) produces a pulsed inhomogeneous magnetic field via a coil (2) and the yoke (3), driving the O2 fraction in the gas through a transverse branch of the bridge (4). O2 concn. is measured by the flowmeter (5). A second flowmeter (6) measures total gas. ADVANTAGE - Not position dependent.
