The present invention relates to an antioxidant or anti-inflammatory composition comprising a spirit extract of a leg shell of Chionoeoets japonicas as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the spirit extract of a leg shell of Chionoeoets japonicas has no cytotoxicity and DPPH radical removing activity, inhibits formation of NO (nitric oxide) in immune cells, and contains high cartinoid content.
