A method for coating a medical device is provided. The method includes applying a matrix to a medical device and applying a plurality of therapeutic particles to the medical device wherein the therapeutic particles may be restrained by the matrix and the matrix may be adapted to influence the release of the therapeutic particles from the matrix after the device is placed within the body of a patient. A medical device for insertion into the body of a patient is also provided. The device includes a surface and a means for releasably adhering a plurality of therapeutic particles to the surface of the medical device wherein the means covering the surface of the medical device may be adapted to regulate the release of the therapeutic particles into the body of the patient, after the device has been inserted into the patient.Procédé pour enrober un dispositif médical.
