PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Clostridium difficile vaccine.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a composition comprising Clostridium difficile toxin and/or toxoid and corresponding methods and an excipient that increase thermal stability and/or decrease aggregation of the toxin or toxoid and/or reduces or delays aggregation of the toxin or toxoid. The present invention provides a composition comprising toxoids of C. difficile toxins A and B. The present invention also provides a vaccine composition comprising an aluminum compound as an adjuvant. The vaccine composition is in liquid form, dry powder form, freeze dried, spray dried, or foam dried.
