PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge mixing and throw-in method and a sludge mixing and throw-in device, that can pump sludge into a sludge treatment furnace such as an incinerator or a thermal decomposition furnace while preventing leakage of odor and saving energy.SOLUTION: In a mixing and throw-in device 3, some dewatered sludge that is to be combusted in an incinerator 11 is dried by a drier, the dried sludge C3 is mixed with the dewatered sludge C1 to be converted into a mixed sludge C4 that reduces or eliminates need for an auxiliary fuel, and the mixed sludge is thrown into the incinerator 11. The mixing and throw-in device 3 includes: a mixer 5 in which the dried sludge C3 is dispersion-mixed with the dewatered sludge C1 to generate the mixed sludge C4 while retaining a granular form of the dried sludge C3; and a pressure pump 6 for pressure-feeding the mixed sludge C4 discharged form the mixer 5 to the incinerator 11 in a sealed state.
