PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a material (a metallic sponge-like three-dimensional knitted fabric) having such characteristics as recovering a form to a three-dimensional sponge-like soft state always when releasing compression force under a use condition to act compression force, even if, in some cases, in a high temperature environment, and capable of expressing abundant flexibility and cushioning properties.SOLUTION: The metallic sponge-like three-dimensional knitted fabric comprises a knitted fabric main body knitted with metallic wires having an elastic restoration force for keeping a loop form so as to ensure a percentage of void of not less than 98.5% and a knitted fabric thickness of not less than 20 times as thick as a wire diameter, where the knitted fabric main body has an elastic modulus of not less than 90% in a compressive elasticity test of compressing the knitted fabric main body with 0.7 kPa in a thickness direction for 10 sec., compressing with 19.6 kPa for 60 sec., decompressing for 60 s
