The present invention describes the method for producing the dichloromethane fraction and subfractions of Eleutherine plicata, commonly known as "marupazinho, maruparí, palmeirinha, coquinho, marupaí, marupaú, marupá-piranga, lírio-folha-de-palmeira". The invention further includes the preparation of pharmaceutical compositions that contain the dichloromethane fraction and/or naphthoquinone, as well as the use thereof for the treatment of malaria. The extract and fractions described were tested and showed antiplasmodium activity, in particular against chloroquine-resistant Plasmodium falciparum (W2).La présente invention concerne un procédé pour l'obtention d'une fraction dichlorométhane et de sous-fractions d'Eleutherine plicata, populairement appelée "marupazinho, maruparí, palmeirinha, coquinho, marupaí, marupaú, marupá-piranga, lírio-folha-de-palmeira". L'invention concerne également l'obtention de compositions pharmaceutiques contenant une fraction dichlorométhane et/ou naphtoquinone, ainsi que leur utilisation pour le traitement de la malaria. L'extrait et les fractions présentés ont été testés et ont montré une activité antiplasmodique, notamment contre Plasmodium falciparum résistant à la chloroquine (W2).A presente invenção descreve o processo para obtenção de fração diclorometanica e subfrações de Eleutherine plicata, popularmente denominada "marupazinho, maruparí, palmeirinha, coquinho, marupaí, marupaú, marupá-piranga, lírio-folha-de-palmeira". A invenção compreende, ainda, a obtenção de composições farmacêuticas que contêm a fração diclorometanica e/ou naftoquinona, bem como sua utilização para o tratamento da malária. O extrato e frações apresentados foram ensaiados e mostraram atividade antiplasmódica, particularmente contra Plasmodium falciparum resistente ô cloroquina (W2).
