The present invention relates to a one-pot synthetic method of 3-hydroxy-2-oxindol derivatives, which produces the 3-hydroxy-2-oxindol derivatives by reacting isatin derivatives with lutidine or picoline in the presence of iodine as a reaction catalyst.
