The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing alkyl glyceryl ether by conducting reaction of alkyl glycidyl ether and water in the presence of a solvent and a catalyst to obtain alkyl glyceryl ether, wherein the solvent comprises glycol ethers, and the catalyst comprises an alkali metal salt of a carboxylic acid.
