- This report uses preliminary data from USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service to examine trends in U.S. food and nutrition assistance programs through fiscal 2018. It also summarizes two recent ERS reports: one on trends in the prevalence and severity of U.S. household food insecurity through 2017 and another that estimates the economic impacts of increased breastfeeding among WIC participants.
Errata: On April 27, 2020, figure 7 on page 13 of this report, The Food Assistance Landscape: FY 2018 Annual Report, was revised so that the y-axis label correctly reads “Thousands of people.”
