Surgical handpiece with a push rod that both transfers rotational movement to an output drive shaft and that actuates a cutting accessory locking assembly
A surgical tool attachment comprising a push rod is described. The push rod is coupled to an input drive shaft to rotate in unison with the input drive shaft to move longitudinally relative to the input drive shaft. The push rod is additionally coupled to an output drive shaft to rotate in unison with the output drive shaft and connected to a locking member so that a longitudinal movement of the push rod moves the locking member from a first position in which the locking member abuts the holding member to a second position in which the locking member is spaced from the holding member.
