Disclosed is an accessory assembly (100, 200, 300) for coupling a unit to an animal band. In one embodiment, the accessory assembly (100, 200, 300) comprises a support frame (102, 202, 302), the support frame (102, 202, 302) including a locking gap (120) positioned on one end of the support frame (102, 202, 302), a latch protrusion (114) positioned on the other end of the support frame (102, 202, 302), a proximally positioned receiving aperture (340A), and a plurality of strap retention structures (106A, 206A, 306A) configured for coupling to at least one strap (104, 114, 204A, 204B, 304A, 304B), the straps (204A, 304A) configured for coupling to an animal band. The accessory assembly (100, 200, 300) further comprises a coupling latch (110, 210, 310) comprising an actuator (112, 212, 312) positioned on one end of the coupling latch (110, 210, 310) and a locking mechanism (118, 218, 318) positioned on the other end of the coupling latch (110, 210, 310) opposite the actuator (112, 212, 312) wherein the coupling latch (110, 210, 310) is configured to be coupled to the support frame (102, 202, 302) by placing the locking mechanism (118, 218, 318) within the locking gap (120) and positioning the actuator (112, 212, 312) around the latch protrusion (114), and wherein the coupling latch (110, 210, 310) is further configured to laterally move the locking mechanism (118, 218, 318) in response to a force applied to the actuator (112, 212, 312) toward the receiving aperture (340A).
