The present invention relates to valvuloplasty catheter balloons coated with a therapeutic amount of an anti-infective agent and optionally a biological and biodegradable carrier substance and optionally further components. Moreover, the present invention relates the use of such coated catheter balloons for treatment of heart valve stenosis and release of the anti-infective agent or agents for prophylaxis of endocarditis especially endocarditis caused as a result of valvuloplasty. The coated catheter balloons can be used alone or in combination with a coated or uncoated valve replacement device on the catheter balloon before or after the coating with the therapeutically anti-infective agent and optionally carrier substance.La présente invention porte sur des ballonnets de cathéter de valvuloplastie enrobés dune quantité thérapeutique dun agent anti-infectieux et, de manière facultative, dune substance support biologique et biodégradable et, de manière facultative, dautres composants. En outre, la présente invention porte sur lutilisation de tels ballonnets de cathéter enrobés pour le traitement dune sténose valvulaire cardiaque et la libération du ou des agents anti-infectieux pour la prophylaxie dune endocardite, en particulier dune endocardite provoquée comme suite à une valvuloplastie. Les ballonnets de cathéter enrobés peuvent être utilisés seuls ou en combinaison avec un dispositif de remplacement de valvule enrobé ou non enrobé sur le ballonnet de cathéter, avant ou après lenrobage avec lagent thérapeutiquement anti-infectieux et, éventuellement, la substance support.
