PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a position of a capsule type device with a simple structure and algorithm in the capsule type device which is charged into the body from the oral cavity and used for a specific purpose.SOLUTION: The capsule type device includes: a 3-axis magnetic sensor 10 a direction calculation part 21 for calculating the direction of a prescribed axis of the 3-axis magnetic sensor 10 on the basis of a magnetic field measured by the 3-axis magnetic sensor 10 a placement information storage part 31 for storing placement information indicating placement of the digestive tract and a position calculation part 22 for acquiring history of the calculated direction of the prescribed axis and calculating a position of the capsule type device in the digestive tract by collating the history with the placement information.
