PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nutritional composition useful for nutritional management and nutritional therapy of patients suffering from hepatic failure, to provide a nutritional composition useful for metabolism and nutritional management on patients under bioinvasion such as surgery, infection and burn, and to provide a nutritional composition useful for improving clinical conditions of patients in inflammatory diseases.SOLUTION: It is found that a nutritional composition containing, as essential ingredients, hydrolyzate of whey protein, lecithin having a lipid metabolism improving action, oil and fat containing much oleic acid, and palatinose having an insulin saving effect suppresses onset of galactosamine hepatopathy. It is also found that the hydrolyzate of whey protein included in the nutritional composition suppresses production of endotoxin-induced TNF-α and interleukin 6 (IL-6) in macrophage.
