The present invention relates to a process for the purification of natural vanillin having a purity ranging from 95 to 99% by weight in order to obtain the natural vanillin weakly colored, comprising the following steps: (a) to melt the natural vanillin, (b) the molten vanillin from step (a) to a step of evaporation under vacuum； (c) to recover a condensate of vanillin, purified. The present invention also relates to vanillin weakly colored, which can be obtained by the process according to the invention.
