The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a hydrogel suitable as carrier in a hydrogel-linked prodrug, to hydrogels obtainable from said process, the use of such hydrogel as a carrier in a hydrogel-linked prodrug and to hydrogel-linked prodrugs comprising a covalently conjugated hydrogel of the present invention. The hydrogel prodrug carrier has a reduced drug loading on the outside of the hydrogel carrier. This is achieved by reducing the number of functional groups of the hydrogel, in particular those at its surface.La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation dun hydrogel convenant comme vecteur dans un promédicament lié à un hydrogel, des hydrogels pouvant être obtenus grâce audit procédé, lutilisation dun tel hydrogel comme vecteur dans un promédicament lié à un hydrogel et des promédicaments liés à un hydrogel comprenant un hydrogel conjugué lié de manière covalente de la présente invention. Le vecteur promédicament hydrogel a une charge médicamenteuse réduite sur lextérieur du vecteur hydrogel. Ceci est atteint en réduisant le nombre de groupes fonctionnels de lhydrogel, en particulier ceux au niveau de sa surface.
