PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of securing the height sufficient to be closely in contact with the body of a user and enhancing the leakage preventive effect with gathers to be hardly turned down inward.SOLUTION: Each longitudinal end of the sanitary napkin 1 is a non-raised part where a loop-shaped three-dimensional gather BS is not raised by layering an outer inclined surface 32 on the inner side of the loop-shaped three-dimensional gather BS in such a way as to be folded. In a raised part of the loop-shaped three-dimensional gather BS, the length L1 from the base end to the top P of the outer inclined surface 32 is shorter than the length L2 from the base end to the top P of an inner inclined surface 33, and the inclination angle α of the inner inclined surface 33 to a widthwise line of the sanitary napkin 1 is 45° or smaller. Accordingly, the outer inclined surface 32 swells outward when the sanitary napkin 1 is worn, and the loop-shaped three-dimensional gathers BS are deformed in such a way as to be turned down outward on the whole, so that impairment of a bodily fluid absorbing function caused by inward turning of the loop-shaped three-dimensional gathers BS to cover a bodily fluid absorbing surface can be prevented.
