A device for observing dermatologic skin, facial and scalp lesions and abnormalities, cosmetic skin conditions or forensic pathologic evidence comprising one or multiple illumination geometries having an emitter with one or multiple visible or invisible light sources and a reflector, wherein the light sources can be switched, varied in intensity or combined. The device further comprising a visor for observation by an expert and a mirror so patients can observe their own skin.
