PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce labour of an operator during special light imaging.SOLUTION: In an optical path of broadband light BB emitted from a broadband light source 30 of a light source device 13, a D mirror 32 and a condenser lens 35 are placed in order. A blue LD 31 for emitting blue (B) narrowband light Bn to the D mirror 32 is provided. A processor 12 is provided with a region determination part 57 for determining the kind of a region to be imaged on the basis of special light image data obtained by photography with an electronic endoscope 11. A CPU 54 of the processor 12 controls the broadband light source 30 and the blue LD 31 on the basis of a determination result of the region determination part 57 in such a manner that the broadband light BB and the B narrowband light Bn are emitted at a light quantity ratio predetermined for each kind of the region to be imaged. Thus, since illumination light can be automatically switched, labor of an operator is reducible.
