PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic containing a liquid crystal composition having intense color developability, a wide color range, exhibiting a vivid color and excellent stability with the passage of time, and having excellent feeling on use and a moisture-retaining action.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal composition-containing cosmetic which is extremely rich in color developability, aesthetic, and stable with the passage of time can be obtained by mixing a higher fatty acid, a higher alcohol and a surfactant at a specific ratio. Further, a liquid crystal color with a wide color range, excellent feeling on use and a moisture retaining action can be obtained by mixing a higher fatty acid, a higher alcohol and a surfactant at a specific ratio and further adding a polymeric material such as polyvinyl alcohol, xanthan gum or pullulan so as to give viscosity variation.COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT【課題】強い発色で色幅が広く、鮮やかで経時安定性の優れた液晶組成物を含有し、優れた使用感触と保湿作用を有する化粧料を提供。【解決手段】高級脂肪酸、高級アルコール及び界面活性剤を特定の比率で配合することにより、極めて発色性に富み、美しくかつ経時的にも安定な液晶組成物含有化粧料が得られることを見出し、また、高級脂肪酸、高級アルコール及び界面活性剤を特定の比率で配合し、更にポリビニルアルコール、キサンタンガム又はプルラン等の高分子物質を加え、粘度変化を持たせることにより色幅の広い液晶色及び優れた使用感触と保湿効果を有する。
