The present invention relates to a shore protection vegetation block and a construction method thereof. The shore protection vegetation block and the construction method thereof are able to: prevent the loss of vegetation and cover soil by coupling and integrating a fixing member with a cover member (40) after cover soil on a penetration hole (15) of a block (10) which is laid when constructing the shore vegetation block and a vegetation mat (30) is inserted into the penetration hole (15) by forming the penetration hole (15) in which the vegetation mat (30) is inserted in the center of the block (10), the fixing member (20) in the penetration hole (15), and the cover member (40) coupled with the fixing member (20)； prevent the death of vegetation and the loss of the block (10) since the supply of nourishment and water is easy by attaching the root of the vegetation to the ground； and not only enable easy drainage by forming the penetration hole (15) but also enable a concrete block to be lightened as much as the volume of the formed penetration hole (15).본 발명은 호안식생블록 및 그 시공방법에 관한 것으로, 블록(10)의 중심부(15)에 식생매트(30)가 삽입되는 관통공(15)을 형성하되, 상기 관통공(15)에는 고정부재(20)를 형성함과 아울러 상기 고정부재(20)에 체결되는 커버부재(40)를 형성하여, 호안식생블록의 시공시 포설된 블록(10)의 관통공(15)에 복토를 시행한 다음 그 관통공(15)에 식생매트(30)를 삽입한 후, 고정부재(20)에 커버부재(40)를 체결하여 일체화함으로써, 식생식물 및 복토의 유실을 방지할 수 있고, 식생식물의 뿌리가 지면에 활착되어 영양 및 수분의 공급이 용이하므로 식생식물의 고사를 방지함과 아울러 블록(10)의 유실을 예방하는 데에도 도움이 되며, 관통공(15)이 형성되어 배수가 용이할 뿐만 아니라, 다른 한편으론 관통공(15)이 형성된 부피만큼 콘크리트 블록을 경량화할 수 있는 호안식생블록 및 그 시공방법에 관한 것이다.
