The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating infection of influenza viruses, which comprises, as an active ingredient, an extract or a fraction thereof from one or more selected from a group consisting of Smilax china, Aloe, Syzygium aromaticum Merrill et Perry, Nelumbinis Semen and Polygoni Avicularis Herba； and a composition for inhibiting activity of neuraminidase (NA). The extract and the fraction thereof from Smilax china, Aloe, Syzygium aromaticum Merrill et Perry, Nelumbinis Semen and Polygoni Avicularis Herba have no cytotoxicity and inhibit activity of NA involved in propagation and proliferation, thereby being advantageously used as a functional health food for preventing or alleviating infection of influenza viruses, a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating infection of influenza viruses, and a quasi-drug composition for preventing and treating infection of influenza viruses.본 발명은 토복령(Smilax china), 노회(Aloe), 모정향(Syzygium aromaticum Merrill et Perry), 연자육(Nelumbinis Semen) 및 편축(Polygoni Avicularis Herba)으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 1종 이상의 추출물 또는 이의 분획물을 유효성분으로 포함하는, 인플루엔자 바이러스(influenza virus) 감염의 예방 또는 치료용 조성물 및 뉴라미니데이즈(neuraminidase, NA) 활성의 억제용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 토복령, 노회, 모정향, 연자육 및 편축 추출물 및 이의 분획물은 세포에 독성이 없으면서 인플루엔자 바이러스의 전파 및 증식에 관여하는 뉴라미니데이즈의 활성을 억제하므로, 인플루엔자 바이러스 감염의 예방 또는 개선용 건강기능식품, 인플루엔자 바이러스 감염의 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물 및 인플루엔자 바이러스 감염의 예방 또는 치료용 의약외품 조성물 등으로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
