PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic medicine picking method which can eliminate a dispensing error, can establish the traceability of medicine, and can improve productivity in picking medicine.SOLUTION: An automatic medicine picking method includes: a tray storing step of storing each distributed medicine for each tray, creating medicine information data of each medicine stored in the tray, and creating medicine storage data by tying the medicine information data to the unique information data of the tray a tray storage step of storing the tray, in which the medicine is stored in the tray storing step, in a medicine shelf, tying location data of the storage place to the corresponding medicine storage data to create medicine prescription data, and storing it in storage means a data drawing step of drawing applicable medicine prescription data from the storage means based on new prescription data received through a network and a tray picking step in which a picking crane adjacent to the medicine shelf picks a tray therefrom based on the location data included in the medicine prescription data drawn in the data drawing step.
