A subjective refraction method for adjusting a refractive correction prescription for a patient, comprising: providing at least one point light source outside of a patients eye and an adjustable optical system for forming an initially blurry image of the point light source at the patients eye while adjusting the optical system, searching until the patient indicates one or more end points while looking at the image of the point light source.
