PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analyte information acquisition device (photo acoustic microscopy) that can be downsized.SOLUTION: An analyte information acquisition device has: a light source that generates light； and an irradiation unit that irradiates a light irradiation area of an analyte surface with the light to thereby generate an acoustic wave from the analyte, and further has: a reception unit that receives the acoustic wave； and an acoustic lens that is provided so that the reception unit can selectively receive the acoustic wave from a prescribed direction. The analyte information acquisition device further has: a movement unit that moves a focal point of the acoustic lens in an in-plane direction of the light irradiation area in an interior of the analyte； and an acquisition unit that acquires information about a characteristic of the analyte on the basis of a reception result of the reception unit.
