PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam irradiation device and a laser beam irradiation method capable of detecting whether or not a distance between the focus of a condenser lens and a part to be irradiated (for instance, a lesion) is within an allowable range when irradiating the part to be irradiated with a laser beam, and manually and accurately positioning the focus of the condenser lens.SOLUTION: The laser beam irradiation device 200 includes: a laser beam source 201 for oscillating a laser beam； a condenser lens 208 for condensing the laser beam 209 oscillated from the laser beam source 201； a controller 207 for acquiring a distance between the focus of the condenser lens 208 and the part to be irradiated and determining whether or not the acquired distance is within the allowable range； and visible light LDs 202-204 for notifying a user of the determination result.【課題】レーザ光を被照射部（例えば、患部）に照射する際、集光レンズの焦点と被照射部との間の距離が許容範囲内にあるか否かを検知することができ、集光レンズの焦点の位置合わせをマニュアルにより正確に行うことが可能なレーザ光照射装置およびレーザ光照射方法を提供すること。【解決手段】本発明の一実施形態に係るレーザ光照射装置２００は、レーザ光を発振するレーザ光源２０１と、レーザ光源２０１から発振されたレーザ光２０９を集光する集光レンズ２０８と、集光レンズ２０８の焦点と被照射部との間の距離を取得し、該取得された距離が許容範囲内か否かを判断するように構成された制御装置２０７と、該判断結果をユーザに通知する可視光ＬＤ２０２～２０４と備える。【選択図】図４
