PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling transplanting machine in which a traveling vehicle body automatically switches to reverse travel after planting seedlings to a field end.SOLUTION: A seedling transplanting machine includes: a traveling vehicle body 2 a planting device 52 liftably disposed in the rear side of the traveling vehicle body, and planting seedlings a gear shift lever 36 for operating the switching of forward, stop and reverse of the traveling vehicle body an HST 23 switching in response to the operation of the gear shift lever 36 an automatic lifting mechanism for automatically lifting the planting device 52 in the turning and reverse a ridge detection part 110 for detecting arrival of the traveling vehicle body to a ridge and a control circuit 200 for automatically changing the HST 23 to the reverse side, when the arrival of the traveling vehicle body to the ridge is detected by the ridge detection part 110 and a determination is made that the traveling vehicle body is stopped manually or automatically.
