PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that a lifting and lowering and an opening and closing mechanisms for seedling planting bodies in a seedling planting machine is large-sized and the structure thereof is an extremely complicated mechanism. SOLUTION: The seedling planting machine is equipped with the seedling planting bodies 25 composed of two seedling planting tools 25F and 25R rotating around supporting shafts 33 and 34 for the seedling planting tools, performing opening and closing operation and mounted on the tip of a first lifting and lowering link 40a and the tip of a second lifting and lowering link 40b. The seedling transplanting machine is designed to vertically rotate the lifting and lowering links 40a and 40b and lift and lower the seedling planting bodies 25 by a driving mechanism A. Furthermore, the seedling planting machine is obtained as follows. A base of an operation arm 44 for performing the opening and closing operation of the two seedling planting tools 25F and 25R is freely rotatably mounted on a second shaft 40bS pivoting on the base of the lifting and lowering link 40b on the lower side and a follower 44c for moving the operation arm 44 in the direction to make the two seedling planting tools 25F and 25R perform the opening and closing operation in the set timing by receiving actions of a cam 46 provided in a rotating shaft 40aR is installed in the upper part of the operation arm 44.
