<；P>；PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction catheter for accurately grasping not only a position of a suction port but also an orientation of the suction port when the suction catheter is introduced into a blood vessel. <；P>；SOLUTION: The suction catheter has a suction lumen 11 disposed in the axial direction in a tubular catheter body 1. A part of a peripheral surface in a distal end portion of the body 1 is formed to be slanted relative to the axis, and the distal end portion of the body 1 is tapered axially forward. "The suction port 15, which is elongated in the axial direction, is opened axially forward and radially outward, and communicates with the suction lumen 11", is formed in the slanted part.
