PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide variant fine particles satisfactorily responding to advancement of demand in recent years such as further enhancement of optical characteristics such as total ray transmittance and light diffusion properties in a resin composition, further enhancement of feeling of usage, soft focus properties, concealment properties, durability and the like in cosmetics, to provide a method for producing the same and to provide its use.SOLUTION: The variant fine particles each having a shape of recessed surfaces (11) of a polyhedron of a hexahedron or more as a whole are used, each of which simultaneously satisfying conditions (1) to (3): (1) an average value is the maximum diameter (L1) of the outer shape of the variant fine particle is in the range of 0.1 to 20 &mum, (2) an average value of the ratio of the minimum diameter (L2)/the maximum diameter (L1) of the outer shape of the variant fine particle is in the range of 0.60 to 0.97 and (3) the ratio of the maximum diameter (m1) of the recessed surface (11)/the maximum diameter (L1) of the outer shape of the variant fine particle is in the range of 0.20 to 0.90 and the average value of the number of the recessed surfaces (11) per variant fine particle is in the range of 6 to 14.COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT【課題】樹脂組成物においては全光線透過率及び光拡散性等の光学特性の一層の向上、また化粧料においては使用感、ソフトフォーカス性、隠蔽性及び持続性等の一層の向上等、近年における要求の高度化に充分に応えることができる異形微粒子、その製造方法及びその用途を提供する。【解決手段】全体として六面体以上の多面体の各面を凹面(11)で形成した形状の異形微粒子であって、(1)異形微粒子個々の外形の最大径(L1)の平均値が0.1~20μmの範囲にあること、(2)異形微粒子個々の外形の最小径(L2)/外形の最大径(L1)の比の平均値が0.60~0.97の範囲にあること、(3)異形微粒子個々の凹面(11)の最大径(m1)/外形の最大径(L1)の比が0.20~0.90の範囲にある異形微粒子1個当たりの凹面(11)の数の平均値が6~14個の範囲にあること、以上の(1)~(3)の条件を同時に満たす異形微粒子を用いた。【選択図】図1
