PURPOSE: A bait trap for catching freshwater turtles is provided to prevent a captured turtle from being drowned and to facilitate carrying and folding thereof. CONSTITUTION: A bait trap for catching freshwater turtles comprises: a frame(1) equipped with a post installed between an upper frame and a bottom frame； a catching unit(21) which is installed in order to surround the outside of the frame and in which a turtle inlet port is formed in one or more sidewalls； a catching net(2) which is expanded to the top of the catching unit and consists of a respiration space unit(22) exposed to the water surface； and a support stand(4) which fixes and supports the frame and catching net.본 발명은 포획된 거북이 숨을 쉴 수 있도록 호흡공간을 형성하여 포획된 거북이 익사하는 것을 방지할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 절첩이 용이하여 휴대가 간편하고, 망체로 구성되어 설치가 용이한 민물거북 생포용 덫에 관한 것이다. 이러한 본 발명의 민물거북 생포용 덫은 상부틀과 하부틀 사이에 기둥을 설치하여 구성된 프레임과 ； 상기 프레임의 외부를 감싸도록 설치되고 최소한 하나의 측벽에 거북유입구가 형성된 포획부와 상기 포획부의 상부로 연장되고 수중에 설치되었을 때 수면의 위로 노출되는 호흡공간부로 구성된 포획망과 ； 상기 프레임과 포획망을 고정 지지하는 지지대를 포함하여 구성됨을 특징으로 한다.
