A liquid composition obtained by adding an oil phase having dissolved therein (A) vitamin A, (B) a nonionic surfactant, (C) an antioxidizing fat-soluble ingredient other than vitamin A, and (D) a polyhydric alcohol to an aqueous phase and stirring at an emulsification temperature of from 0 to 50℃ to effect emulsification includes components A to D, has a content weight ratio D/(A+C) of from 0.7 to 4, and has a component B content of from 0.05 to 0.15 w/v %. When formulated with fat-soluble ingredients such as vitamin A, the liquid composition has a high transparency and increased vitamin A adsorption to mucous membranes such as the cornea, the conjunctiva, the nasal mucosa and the oropharyngeal mucosa so that the effects of vitamin A are better manifested.
