The hip joint prosthesis has a shaft (3) for inserting into the thigh bone, the surface of which has an osteo-inductive treatment which is provided exclusively in the metaphysis section (5) of the shaft and laterally from the line (7) of largest AP-dimension of the shaft cross section.
